Believe it or not, it does get hot in Milwaukee.

How hot? Milwaukee has broken the 100-degree mark more than 20 times since daily scientific weather observations began in 1871, according to National Weather Service data.

On July 24, 1934, Milwaukee's official thermometer recorded 105 degrees — still the hottest temperature on record for the city. During the summer of 1988, Milwaukee passed the century mark temperature-wise six times, which also is still a record. (Coming in second was the summer of 1936, when it was 100 or hotter four times.)

OK, so it's not like Phoenix here. But it does get pretty hot.

Check out what it has looked like in Milwaukee when it's 100 degrees or hotter in the photo gallery at the top of this story.
